Welcome to
INUA FOUNDATION RESEARCH DESK
The INUA Foundation Research Desk is the academic arm of the Refugee Empowerment Programme, operating through INUA Foundation’s research and advocacy services. It is dedicated to producing rigorous, policy-relevant research on refugee protection, mobility, and durable solutions, with a strong focus on issues affecting forcibly displaced populations in Africa and beyond. The Research Desk bridges evidence and action by generating knowledge that informs advocacy, programming, and policy reform at national, regional, and international levels.
The Research Desk is composed of scholars and academics with refugee and displacement backgrounds, bringing lived experience together with strong methodological and analytical expertise. This refugee-led approach ensures that research is grounded, ethical, and responsive to real protection challenges. Institutions and partners interested in collaboration can reach the Research Desk through the Manager of Communication and External Relations at researchdesk@inuafoundation.org.
The issuance and recognition of Refugee Travel Documents pose threats to refugees' protection and durable solutions.
The Research Desk intends to conduct a joint research on Convention Travel Document: How Legal and Policy Gaps pose Obstacles to Refugees' Protection and Durable Solutions.
